JIB is a musical trio composed of three members: Jim Mageean, along with Ingrid and Barry Temple. Jim Mageean has built a solid reputation over many years as an authority in sea songs and songs originating from the North-East region. Both Barry and Ingrid, hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, typically perform unaccompanied, although Barry occasionally enhances their songs with concertina or guitar accompaniment. Their repertoire mainly consists of traditional songs, encompassing both serious and humorous themes. Additionally, Barrie’s original compositions, crafted in the traditional style, have further enhanced their standing in the folk music community. Their delightful stage presence and harmonious voices make this relatively new trio a performance not to be overlooked.
